ACCA declares Oxford College of Business Best Among SME’s for Sustainable Reporting
Oxford College of Business (OCB) emerged Winner in the SME sector at the ACCA Sri Lanka Sustainability Reporting Awards 2021, which concluded recently.
The prestigious ACCA Sustainability Reporting Awards presented for the 17th year and recognizes responsible corporates for their excellent demonstration in environmental, society and sustainability reporting. The entries were judged on a global criterion including credibility, comprehensiveness, quality and communication of their reports and are aligned with the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) guidelines for sustainability reporting.
As a responsible corporate citizen, OCB’s approach to Sustainability focuses on transforming its stakeholders’ livelihoods by creating both economic and environmental value through its activities. By reducing its environmental impact, and enhancing the impact of its social initiatives, the Business School strives to drive sustainable growth and wealth creation by integrating the core attributes of transparency and accountability throughout its business strategy.
Through their integrated Annual Report, Oxford College of Business aims to showcase such efforts and highlight their continued commitment towards community investment and social development projects that have made an impact towards environmental and social sustainability.
Mr Malindu Ranasinghe, Director/CEO of Oxford College of Business speaking on the win said, “I would like to give all glory and honour to God alone for this great achievement. While the pursuit of awards has never been a priority in our reporting process, we are delighted with the spate of recognition for this year’s annual report. The bouquets we have received for our reporting validate our commitment to transparency and honesty in reporting both the positives and negatives of our impacts, operations and strategies.
Reporting is the last component in a series of actions that are embedded in how we work at Oxford College of Business – cascading from our vision to corporate planning and strategy, and therein to our operations. We have over the years, formalised the practice of evaluating the value we create or deplete in every decision and action taken across the organisation; the benefits of this process – whether tangible or intangible, financial or otherwise – have been immense.”
ACCA is the third organisation to recognise OCB’s 2020/21 Annual Report with awards. Previously the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka, and the Institute of Certified Management Accountants (CMA) of Sri Lanka have recognised its excellence in different aspects with awards.
