Oxford College of Business (OCB) is proud to announce its commitment to supporting Sri Lanka’s aquatic sports community by partnering with the Sri Lanka Aquatic Sports Union (SLASU) in the launch of the Elite Athlete Management Program. This groundbreaking initiative is designed to foster the long-term development and retention of Sri Lanka’s top aquatic athletes across all six disciplines: swimming, diving, water polo, artistic swimming, open water swimming, and high diving.

As part of this program, Oxford College of Business will be offering scholarships to elite swimmers, empowering them to pursue higher education while continuing to excel in their athletic careers. By providing this support, Oxford College of Business ensures that Sri Lanka’s athletes can balance academic excellence with their passion for sports, strengthening the foundation for future champions in the global arena. This initiative underscores OCB’s role in promoting year-round development across all aquatic disciplines, helping athletes enhance their skills and reach their full potential.

Through its consistent involvement in the promotion of aquatic sports, Oxford College of Business is committed to the growth of the sport across Sri Lanka. With a focus on supporting athletes from all six aquatic disciplines, OCB’s contribution includes educational opportunities and mentorship for the nation’s top aquatic athletes. By doing so, Oxford College of Business is helping to ensure that Sri Lanka’s emerging talent has the resources and guidance needed to succeed both in the pool and in the classroom.

Building Stronger Aquatic Sports Foundations in Sri Lanka

Through the Elite Athlete Management Program SLASU in partnership with Oxford College of Business, is reinforcing its commitment to raising the standard of aquatic sports in Sri Lanka. By supporting athletes and creating international opportunities, SLASU and Oxford College of Business are helping to shape the next generation of champions while building strong, lasting relationships within the global aquatic sports community.

HNB Age Group Aquatic Championships & Indo-Sri Lanka Under-21 Water Polo Championship

In addition to supporting year-round aquatic initiatives, Oxford College of Business was also the Official Education Partner for the HNB Age Group Aquatic Championships 2025, a premier event for Sri Lanka’s youth in aquatic sports. This championship, powered by Anchor Newdale, which took place from May 7th to 11th, 2025, which featured a range of events, including the much-anticipated Indo-Sri Lanka Under-21 Water Polo Championship. The championship marked the inaugural edition of the Indo-Sri Lanka Under-21 Water Polo Championship, a historic moment for Sri Lanka as it hosts its first international water polo tournament. The event featured boys’ and girls’ teams from Sri Lanka and India, making it a significant milestone in fostering international sporting ties. This annual event, which alternates between Sri Lanka and India, strengthens bilateral relations and provides young athletes from both countries with a platform to compete and grow.
