COURSE STRUCTURE

This module develops students’ understanding of how global organisations formulate and implement strategies in a rapidly changing international business environment. It explores key areas such as competitive positioning, strategic decision-making, cross-border expansion, and innovation in multinational operations. Students will learn to evaluate business models, assess global market opportunities, and apply analytical tools to real-world case studies. Through critical discussion of contemporary business strategies, this module equips learners to understand how international corporations respond to political, economic, and cultural challenges while maintaining responsible business practices and sustainable growth.

This module provides a comprehensive exploration of how organisations integrate sustainability, ethics, and corporate responsibility into their business models. Students will examine key global issues such as environmental impact, social equity, and governance (ESG), and learn how responsible leadership contributes to long-term organisational resilience.

By studying sustainability frameworks, corporate social responsibility (CSR) policies, and ethical decision-making, students develop the ability to evaluate how businesses can balance profitability with positive social and environmental impact. This module encourages the application of responsible business practices across diverse industries and global contexts.

This module critically examines the social, economic, and environmental dimensions of sustainable tourism. It explores both the opportunities and challenges of tourism development – including ecotourism, wildlife tourism, event tourism, and pro-poor tourism – and how they contribute to inclusive and ethical growth.
Students will analyse real-world case studies to understand how sustainability principles can be integrated into tourism planning, policy, and operations at local and global levels. Core themes include destination management, community engagement, stakeholder analysis, and the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
By the end of the module, learners will be able to evaluate tourism practices using sustainability frameworks and propose innovative, ethical strategies for the future of global tourism

You’ll conduct in-depth research, critically analyse data, and apply appropriate methodologies to develop practical, evidence-based solutions. The project culminates in a professional poster presentation, where your team will showcase its findings and respond to questions, as well as a detailed group business report outlining your recommendations. In addition, you’ll submit an individual reflection that captures your personal learning journey highlighting your contribution to the team, your research approach, and how your conclusions were formed.
